Seaway North Wall

hey everyone,
i will be camping on south Stradbroke island next week for a few days and will be landbased fishing off the north wall. i was hoping on recieving some information on what i might catch and what lures to use.

Hey 3rd Degree,
I caught one of those at North Pine Dam last week. It's a beauty, but I wish I could have just caught and released without bringing it home.

I fished along the north wall a few weeks ago, drifting in the tinny, but only around 3-4m off the wall itself so basically trhe same area that you will be fishing landbased. We caught flathead, bream and wrasse on plastics. The best plastic was a 3' gulp in Nuclear Chicken (bright red and green) and got a few decent hits on a cut down Gulp 4" sandworm in camo colour. Hi Josh,

Take yourself a good fist full of metal lures - anything from 20G to 65grams - you should be able to get stuck into tailor and Trevors mostly - seems there's quite a few about at the moment and the North wall usually fishes pretty well.

Also take a decent surf rod with an alvey and once you catch a barely legal tailor pin him on and let him swim live off the tip of the wall casting into the seaway - on an incoming tide at or around the tide change (after dark is probably better but up to 8amish is OK too. - use big hooks and hang on cause at this time of year VERY likely you'll get a big Jew. Fresh tailor fillets also work well - as will the head and frame if you eat the fillets - but live is best. Other than that theres usually a few bream hanging about there too.
