4 hours at the the pin rewarded with silver home before dark

after spending hours trying to talk my son sam into coming fishing he absolutly hated fishing he finally agreed to come so off to the pin it was first job to catch some live bait after about ten casts and one herring things wernt looking good so walked down to some weed banks and scored 2 nice little mullet you beutie off to spot Z by this time it was 3:15pm anchored up threw out a live mullet and mucked around catching bream on my sons rod an half hour later i said to my son "what time is it?" he said he said it was 3:45 i said another 15mins to primo bite time low tide being 4pm 5mins later tap..tap zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz my call was a jewie sam said looks like a shark being his first time wittnessing a jewie being caught after about 5minutes a jew apears beside the boat i said quick sam get the net and he nets it beutifully went to weigh it in it was 10.455 and was one metre ninty long

Thats sensational, good on you !! I look fwd to days like that when my son gets a bit older, he's only 6 now, so I would have gotten the boat in the water, had 2 casts of the net then it would have been "can we go home now dad?" :-[

Plus an excellent fish caught too, wow.

thanks dirtysanchez it was one of those special momments that sam and i will never forget just do it before he gets into computer games sams 14 and he is adicted but i think ive got him now he just has to hook up next time

I am yet to catch a Jew around the bay or offshore "Bris" I seem to catch everything but! so every time i see one held up it really gets the blood going "one day".
A few years back on a charter off Yeppoon (swains) I reeled in two around 40 and 50 pound on the top of a tide within half an hour and havnt been able to score another yet.
Hope Sam keeps it up.;)

yeh ben what ever size i get in the net up to 350mm but my favorite is about 150mm thanks dono keep trying have ago around the pin in the deep holes
