Hi guys, new here and love the forums, great info, love it!

I've was up at 1770 a few months back and did a spot of fishing out in the tinny, there were plenty of bream and whiting up into the creeks and muddies for all! One morning it was like glass out front and was able to get out front around the headland near the rocks and have a little troll, picked up a pike, but thats it.

My question is: what else could i be targeting up there when i return in a few weeks? We've got a flat bottom punt with a little 6hp, so we can get pretty much anywhere up the creeks, but only just out front on a very very calm day.

Basically what else can be caught up there and how can they be targetted? Any info much appreciated!

Cheers, thomo

As you drive into Angus, about 2 km before on the RHS you will find Agnus Bait and Tackle. Opens early in the morning. Go and talk to them and you will get all the info you need

Get some directions for Deepwater creek. Theres a barrage across it . A mate of mine did alright for Mangrove jack bottom side of the barrage. Try live mullet

Depends on how big your tiny is? and what the conditions are like ?
In the creek , I suggest you go up stream past all the moored boats , cast net a heap of live herring along the edge of the mangroves ( the water is gin clear and you can just drift along until you see them) - head up stream from there and you should fine queenies, bream, cod ,the odd jack in the deeper holes and rock bars and plenty of flathead on the sand banks (of which there are plenty).
Offshore , There's shallow reef everywhere within 10 odd kms of the bar all holding the usually species in fairly good attendence, There's a wreck about 8 km East North East of the bar which holds just about all species of trevally if you want to have a bit of fun but they are crap to eat, you're a chance on scoring a cobe or two there, but the trevally are usually too thick to get your livies past.
If you take the trouble and head over to Outer Rock ( about 15 odd kms north of the bar ) try a bit of trolling for Spanish,Schoolies and Cobes, there's a good chance you'll turn a reel.
