Hi Team.
Have a small area of raw ply I wish to treat so it does not beocme exposed to moisture, etc..
Best way / materials to do this please?

Resin coating will protect it, or better still a thin layer of glass/resin and then a layer of flowcoat.
Cheers

Thanks BM. What brand resin should I be using?
What grade of glass should I be using?
Do I paint resin on an then glass or glass first and resin second?
Time to dry between resin/glass and flowcoat?

Head down to the local chandlery shop and they will have all the good oil. As far as timing and application just follow what the product specifications are on the packaging.
Sounds like you have a stack of time to invest in your boat with the number of posts you have been putting up recently. Its a hard life isnt it.
Cheers,
Steve

The stuff you want is called "evadure" ,think thats how its spelt made by epiglass , its a 2 pack poly resin, thin down first 2 coats as per instructions so it soaks in and final coat , looks great and will last for years in the sun and water.
cheers
Or if you're lazy like me, and don't mind green as a finished colour splash some CN oil from bunnings on it - ain't never gunna rot - Job done - stubbie time.

as i8Krusty said Everdure by Epiglass is the gear for that job, it's a timber preservative and sealer. can also be applied to rot areas, it'll kill the spores and seal and harden up like it was resin coated.
if you're near the Redlands I have some Everdure for you to use .

top of ice underfloor box .
I'd glass it with normal poly resin and say some 225 matt if you can. Glassing it may make a hatch (if fitted) not fit anymore so it may not be possible to glass.
If not you could resin it (or resin bog it depending on how opened up the timber is) and flowcoat it.
Cheers
