hit the pine at 7:30 monday in the usual spots. tried drifting with pillies this time with ganged hooks for some flathead. first spot first drift, my boy picks up 34cm bream;D so we went to spot 2 , first drift produced flattie no.1 @49cm and flathead no.2 @52cm. 2nd drift came up with flathead no.3 @42cm and a bream @ 25cm and a whiting. beached the boat to let the kids relive themselves, so I through a line in from the bank and with in 2mins I draged a 58cm flattie onto the sand;D . my boy did the same thing 5mins later producing a flattie @45cm. one more drift passed got a hook up with a nice size fattie but he spat the hook when I was reahing for the net and let the line go loose:-[ .
We ran out of bait so called it a day at 12:00. had'em all for dinner last nite.great feed;D .
This was the best fishing I have had on the pine in years;D ;D ;D
P.S. I didn't notice until I had them home and was cleaning them but, the biggest flattie has been tagged. has anyone had experience in recording and reporting data?

My mate has caught a tagged Flathead in the Coomera - I believe they send you a certificate if they have the details on file.
Got this info from the dpi website:
Tagged fish
Report the capture of tagged fish by calling 1800 077 001.
Research programs conducted throughout Queensland use tags to give scientists a better understanding of fish movement, growth and survival rates.
Unregulated, tagged fish can be taken. However, if you take a tagged fish, call 1800 077 001 toll free or return the tag to the Tagging Coordinator, Bill Sawynok, PO Box 9793, Frenchville, Queensland 4707, with the following information:
the tag number (if the fish has two tags, record both tag details)
the date and place of capture
the fork and/or total length
details of whether the fish was kept or released.
If the tag has ŽKeep FrameŽ on it, fisheries officers may wish to examine the fish. Freeze the fish and contact the coordinator on 1800 077 001 or your local QBFP office.
Nice session - can't wait till my kid is old enough to land a fish! ;D

Hey clone trooper, i caught a Flathead years ago (about 11) in Pummistone Passage up nead the W'S & it had a tag. Cant remember what the number was but it was the Fisheries Dept. I gave them the info & they did send me back some info. It was tagged 13mts earlier at Deception Bay & grew about 50cm.
