Just after some details about where the fishing fields are out from Broome. My brother has had the fortune to land a spot on Broome Billfish Charters in August.
Does anyone know how far out they travel to get to the spot where the Billies are?

Angla , not sure who owns billfish charters but normally grounds are 16 mile to west/northwest of broome about directly west of willies and barred creek .
August sounds good , what are the tides as 2 or so days before neaps ( small tides) are all right. You'll find your skipper will just tonk out to the area around the caves and basically listen for others catches or chase pods of birds and with them will normally be free sailing sailfish or pods around bait schools .
My best days have been 13 raised and caught down to 2 for the day.
Don't expect 13 but 2/4 would be the norm for the day.
Setting the hook is the hardest bit . Have fun.

Saurian,
Thanks for the heads up with that info. Thats exactly the sort of stuff I was after. I think it's a bit easier on the fisherman when he knows roughly what to expect.
