How it going guys'
I hit the bay yesterday arvo with Bayfisher for a trip to mud for what would be my first time in the southern end of the bay .
After i arrived at manly late the day started with a bit of a hiccup with the shackle on the safety chain being seized,we managed to get it undone at the trailer end and just left it dangling off the boat. Next challenge getting the boat started with a turn of the key there was nothing, no power at all. "It cant be a flat battery i just pulled this f%#$en thing off charge",so with a fiddle of the connections the motor roared to life , sweet it s 1330hrs and we are of to our first spot x , we arrive and set our drift and start to fish what i was promised to provide at least a feed ( must of been the sounder hey bayfisher lol) with bayfisher fishing sp's and me fishing bait bayfisher lands the first fish which was to be a massive grinner .
so after an hour of nothing we motor around to spot y and set another drift and then bang i'm on sweet i thought until i saw the colour a happy moment. After another hour off nothing we went back to spot x to fish the change of the tide still nothing.
As darkness set in we decided to head back in. We arrive back at the ramp at 1800hrs this is where the laughs and electrocutions ensued for the next 45 mins.
In all my wisdom i decide to back the trailer as close to the edge of the ramp as possible (this came back to haunt me) after deciding not to drive the boat , i set up the electric winch, with great effort we position the boat to retrive and hit the button on the winch .......... nothing no power, so again a fiddle with the connections and were off we had the boat half way up the trailer when bang the trailer falls violently to right the side the tyre had slipped of the edge of the ramp:-[, so between the laughing we offload the boat and get the trailer back on the ramp. here we go again start winching away and the winch goes dead ,"F%^K whats wrong now" .I say to bayfisher to give it a go while i fix the connections still nothing ,what he doesn't tell me is the controller has fallen in the water and when he tried it, he has received the shock off his life;D . I get to the back and grab the controller of the tire not knowing any of this and hit the button, after shocking the controller right out of my hands and retrieving it out of the water the laughter was controlled so we could figure out how to retrieve the boat ,with quick thinking i grab my tire iron ...........which we managed to fit over the bolt on the manual crank on the winch and we managed to get the boat on trailer.
All in all it was an interesting trip but I have to thank bayfisher for showing me around and i promise im getting a new winch and next time we will take your boat lol.
