Hey fellas,

I am going to replace the ply decking in my boat soon as its got to beyond repair.
I have seen plastic moulded "tiles" about 3 feet by 1 foot in camping stores as camp shower bases to keep the crap off ur feet while showering.

Has anyone seen a large format of this material or similar that could be used in boats and carpeted over?

Basically it would need to be 2 metres by 1 metre minimum size.

It would have to be a better proposition than using ply again because when you water blast it the mud and sand and dirt could blast thru the carpet and down the holes thru the plastic making the whole job much better and most likely avoiding any smelly build up.

Jack.

I have seen a plastic sheet you can buy that is about 12-16mm thick and comes in 2.4 x 1.2 sheets and is made out of recycled plastic but can't for the life of me remember where I seen it ( too many Bourbons over the years me thinks) but try some hardware stores

g'day Jack
If you go to BLA'S site go to catalogue then boat building materials and have a read about STARBOARD it's a bit pricey but its good gear . there is other stuff around , I used it as a hard top on an upgrade to a 5.2 star. From memory there's a place on the northside that carrys polymer board LUDOWICI'S I think was their name. I used some of it to close in a side pocket and fit doors to it. Their product is cheaper from memory.
