My boy Caleb got this one off Margate beach. He was holding my rod while I rebaited his line. I heard him grunting and then he took off up the beach dragging this thing up the sand. He felt ten feet tall for the rest of the day.
Does anyone know of any good land based fishing spots which are kid friendly. We are based on the northside of Brisbane and fish every Saturday morning.
Well Done CALEB!!!
Was just saying to my wife last night how i can't wait till our little one (my apprentice) outfishes his dad...
HARDY, i think for beach fishing, you're probably on the right side of town. You can try Wynnum Manly but the better whiting come from the Redcliffe area...

Well done Caleb and what a smile!
Mate, I don't think you'll go far wrong if you stay in the area that you're in now. Anywhere near Suttons Beach can produce good flatties and whiting.

Have a go at Queens Beach North.
Sunrise or sunset sessions are great.
Have caught whiting, bream, flathead and a few tailors.
Nice sandy beach with rocks each end.
