hey guys i have recently had the urge to try some braid on my baitcasters. i have an abu 6600C4 and another abu 5600C4. im kinda stuck between 3 or so braids, they are the platypus super braid, bionic braid, fireline or even spiderwire. i will probably want 20lb or so. what two do you think would perform the best i.e. casting, strenght, durability, thickness of line etc. i forgot to add that i will be chasing bream, barra, barracuda, and other types of fish lyk that. thanks.

i dont want the expensive braid just yet, im just trying out a few cheaper brands to see what braid is like and if i like it i will opt for the more dear stuff later.

Fins is an inexpensive braid as is tuffline, there are lots of decent mid range braids on the market suitable for what you want. One of them that isn't suitable is regular fireline. its is far to stiff and thick. I would recommend either tuffline, fins or maybe the platypus for your application.

Mate I've got 30lb Platypus on my 6500C4 and find it's good. Got 30lb Fireline on a 6500C3, and it's not as good, being too stiff. I don't know about the other brands or the newer Fireline though.
Cheers

I recently purchased braid made by Cortland....was a lot cheaper...so i thought i would buy some and try it...seems to be ok...suppose i will just have to wait and see how it wears over time...

Used four or five different types, but for me the best at a reasonable price is Fins.
