Can anybody advise me on a good reel at a reasonable price.
I have enough bigger gear but need something smaller for general bay use.
The last reel went for a swim after taking the kids out. A good excuse for a newy.

Check out Daiwafishing.com.au. Daiwa is the way to go. I have a Daiwa Luguna 2000 with 10lb braid which is a pretty good allrounder. Paid 160 but have seen them for 100 now. Nice smooth spinning reel. Also have Emcast 4500 and Fuego 3000. All top durable Daiwa reels. (No i dont work for Daiwa).
Its top gear mate. Cheers Ryno

Have a look at a Penn Slammer 360 or 460. Very strong reel with the best out of the box drag in the business, for a reasonable price.

Daiwa Sol or Shimano stradic the stadic is cheaper at around $240 and sol about $300 I think. Both can be found cheaper on the web. The sol has a better drag and i would recomend it if you can afford it. I have a sol 3000 for tuna and snapps in deeper water and i have 5 stadic 1000 and only run light gear 2-6lb. The 2500 would be a good size reel to cover most bases.
