Went with my brother in law in his 12ft tinny on Sunday at about 5:00. We put in at the Spinnaker boat ramp and started just under the Bribie Bridge. Current was fairly strong and there was a lot of weed around so he then suggested we go out further to the channel markers, so we anchored up at the second last one before heading into open water. It ended up being a bit rough for the 12 footer so we decided to head up one of the creeks and try around the oyster leases. Having found a lease, we anchored with about 1/2 an hour to go till high tide, got a few hits on the soft plastic pretty much straight away. My BIL was using pillies and sandworm on 2 outfits and not getting much attention. I then hooked and landed a 27cm bream but that was about it. The hits on the plastic subsided so we then motored out to the channel near the Pacific Marina and anchored about 50m from another boat. We got absolutely nothing, the guy in the other boat landed a few sweetlip and a grinner while we were there but at this stage we decided to call it quits. I still enjoyed myself even though the bite was slow and will be definitely getting a boat sometime in the near future (if I can get it past the minister of sport & finance!!)
