Well, i couldnt help myself, so with the blessings from the missus i headed off again just to make sure i wasnt dreaming last night. Fished from 3pm onwards, fish came on at around 5ish. Ended up with 1 barra 72cm and a nice grunter on placcies, with 5 missed hookups before the sun dipped below the horizon. The placcies that were working/drawing strikes were 70mm gary glitter squidgy fish, 80mm dropbear tails, 100mm black-gold tails. All on 8lb main, 30lb flurocarbon leader

Nice to see all fish caught using plastic baits.
I bet the barra put up a fight.

Yes its been a pearler of a w/end, unfortunately all over for me, back to work tomoz. We got some nice grassies and assorted other reefies of friday night as well on the shallow reefs in h/bay

Where are you based? The wind (20Knts or worse) has pretty much ruined the fishing this Easter weekend in Cairns :'( :( >:(

Nice fish Mick, unfortunately back to work for me too. Glad you found somewhere out of the wind and got some results. Great fish.

was fishn hervey bay syn. The weather dont bother me, ill fish in a gale if i have to, as long as theres fish about :)

charlie, yes javelin/grunter same diff, there are 2 species of grunter, but id be buggered if i know the differance, same size and bag limit.
Mick, i have many spot 'x' s in h/bay depending on the time of year etc 8-) Tried something differant this time to get these fellas.
