A friend just put me onto this site for the new Hilux

Some info on how to disable that annoying beeper when you leave the key in the ignition with the door open.

The beeper for the seat belt takes about 20 seconds to disable and is only the pressing of a few buttons

Here is another cool email about how to disable the annoying seatbelt warning alarm

http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/Home/Safety/Road/Motor_vehicle/Child_restraints/Rs_mv_restraint_seatbelt_laws

If you want further info on the benefits of wearing a seatbelt on and off road, then give me a bell and I will forward to pictures that should seal your decision. And yes so are low speed impacts occuring off road, where most people think its there right not to wear a seatbelt if they dont choose too..... But I think your loved ones still choose to have you come home at the end of the day!!

I hear ya booty

I always insist on belts all the time on road and off road 4wdriving, the car doesn't move untill all belts are on but on the farm when your in and out of the 4by, stop and starting and mostly at idle in first and second gear its a pest, the other ute on the farm doesn't even have a door never mind a seat belt, sorry mate:)
You can drive around the farm for ages without the beeper on the seatbelt sounding at all, its only when you take off a little quicker that it goes off;)

the ignition key beeper is the most annoying anyway and the one I most wanted to get rid of

Murf that's a good link beepers are a pain, apart from headlight and reverse in some instances, mine has a just a dash light for seatbelts and that is annoying enough at times, the first time I need to see what is behind the dash it will go away permanently.

cheers fnq

Great murf, have been wanting to get rid of both beepers since I got the ute.

Know what you mean booty. I spend a lot of time stationary in my ute onsite, so the belt is off. That beeping drives you nuts, I also have the door open at times for ventilation. When driving at more than a crawl, or when the machinery is moving the belts are on. On the road the car doesn't move till everyone is belted up. If 4WDing, belts MUST be on too.
