Hey folks. Quick sesh this morning at a few Bayside spots I know of. Heard of Tailor on the prowl, so packed the light spin gear and poppers.
Arrived a little late and ended up losing 2 bubble pops in quick succession before deciding to up the leader to 15lb. Only using 8lb crystal so something had to give.
3rd cast I come up solid on solid little brute which put the stradic through it's paces. A couple of sizzling zzzzzzzzzzz's and up came the 1st of 8 trevs for the morning. Average size around the 50cm mark.
Sesh lasted 45 mins tops before I was on my way to work. Pic attatched.

Also got out for a run with Whytey this arvo (what a life I lead) and nailed a few breambos. I fished plackies (2" shrimps on 1/40 TT) while the big fella tossed the SX40. 7 between us and I managed a nice little cod which gave a healthy account of itself on the 4lb stuff. We both fished Stradic 1000's.
Whytey, catch ya up on the holidays bro. The breambo's are scared, I can feel it already........or maybe the property owners are eh?? :P :P
Pics also attatched.

Richie

PS: all fish released.

Nice couple of sessions, those trevs would have given a good account of themselves.

Hey fellas. Thanx. They seem to be hanging around with the bait a fair bit lately. I haven't ever caught em this big before so it's a nice change. The bites are pretty short though. They are only in about 1-2m of water and whgen they are on it's hectic.
Managed to fit another dawn raid in this morning with fellow Ausfisher Dylan Rylatt. We got stuck into........I lost count but plenty. 30 mins is all we got at em really and still lost a lure each. Had a monster just eat my popper today and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ his way to freedom. Ustoppable.
Going to stick with em for a bit until the bait moves on me thinks.
Cheers.

Rich

Pic attached of one that made it to land. Although the pic may not show it, it's actually quite a solid Trev. :D

Some very nice fish , those trevs give some good zzzzzs. When the young bloke gets out of his sling on thursday ,i want to get him onto a couple of those trevs with his stradic for a bit of fun.

Good on ya Rich. The GT sure is a top fight. I picked up a couple of small bubble pops a few months ago but still haven't got them wet. That needs to change asap!

Jackson 4300: The poppers in use are River2Sea bubble pops. I'm using the 65mm size and upgrading to owner hooks.
You should be able to pick em up at any tackle store, just ask. They'll set ya back around $11, which isn't too bad.

Yella: I agree they're tough, but Jacks are still my fav in the creeks. Agree CV? ;)

Got into a few bigger ones this morning. Very hard to get a strike but managed 1 fish around 55-60cm mark. Report posted.
