recently bought a Daiwa Saltist 40H reel (around Christmas) used it over the break but found it impossible to get more than 7 kg of drag out of it. Daiwas web site says I shoud get around 11kg!

It was sent back for replacement drag washers (now twice) but still no more drag. Service dept at Daiwa said that have got 12 kgs out of MY reel depending on which rod they use it on.(I cant figure what the rod has to do with it as the drag shown on specs should be reel drag not deprndant on the rod its on) ita actually on a shimano t curve 200 jigging rod.

Has anyone else had the same/similar probs

I now have carbontech washers in it and am getting more drag but I think that daiwa's web site is very incorrect with the specs.

i think at times they rate the drag presure over rods and to be fair when I am using the drag it is mostly on a rod but I am not knocking what you are saying. Maybe it needs to be stated how they are getting drag pressures

Ask them to give you an in shop demo of how they were able to generate the drag pressure, that will at least keep them honest..
