Went fishing today in Manly and was very very very happy with it. ;D

These trevs fight well. My reel was screeming with even the smallest of them. I would say that my rod, reel, line and knots were well tested.

4 Trevs all in all. All well above 400mm. The largest going more than 500. I'm sure it's more. Just do a ratio and proportion with the sink.

Just bear with the quality of the pics.

I was done there very early morning and nocked up 9 hock ups on a popper, only kept 2 for a feed and stopped fishing when I lost my popper to a very big fish on the rocks. Was that you I was fising with???

I swear I could feel it rubbing the rocks, I was to slow in getting across the rocks to try and pull it out of there. Do they do this often, I mean do they head for structure etc???

Either way it was one the most enjoyable session I had in long time and yes they do fight hard!!!

Is this Shane?

On my case they were all heading out to deeper water once hooked. First time that my rod really bent and my reel screamed.

Yeh that's me!!!

I reckon its going to be like Queen Street down there over Easter!! Valiant you need to use a longer Rod for slightly better control, I always found when fishing from Rocks etc if using smaller rods you tend to loose control of the bigger fish a lot more. However, in saying that that last one I hooked up on and lost I had no control over whats so ever, WOW WHAT A FISH!!! Talk about the one that got away!!!

Richie boy, I might see you down there, remember the Taylor last year at this time while I was using baits (Pillies) and you were hooking up on Soapies (small Jew) on plastics and losing a lot of gear to bite offs from the Taylor!!

Hope to see you both again doing what we like best!!

Hey guys, just wondering if somebody can tell me where this spot is? wanting to head out with a few mates sunday morning. Black duck, my girlfriend Kelly has been talking to you about fishing at/near work and told me to find this thread and ask you where it is.

Is it the rock walls beside the harbour ?
