Damyl Fishing line - Anyone

I have this roll of Damyl Professional 40Lb line in the back of the kit. There would be about 300 Yds left on the roll and I am wondering if anyone knows anything about it. I could almost guarantee it's a relic from my father!! It's about the same diameter as tow rope .026" in the old language.

Would it still be OK. I was thinking of winding it onto and hand reel so I can chuck out a floater now and then.

Looks the goods still....has been out of the sun in a cool dry cupboard!!

Was good line in its day, German I think?
Should be ok, pretty tough at 40lb, give it a go for sure.
Probably a bit 'hard' by now, soak her in warm water before you wind onto hand reel.

I do believe that it is still made, and the old Damyl "steelpower" was very good line, if it has been stored in a dark, coolish place it will be OK to use.
