View Full Version : Coomera again with Geoff72
Met up with Geoff for a sp session at another one of his spots at coomera around 7am,We started flicking 50 mm squidgies around for a while,After no hits Geoff decided to change to a popper but as he was changing to the popper my squidgy got hit and i started losing line then a nice little tarpon jumped out of the water then dived deep and snapped me off,DAM IT,I put on a new jig head and squidgy and started flicking around again,Then Geoff had to leave and head to work,Not long after Geoff left and i get another good hit on the plastic and another hook up,I saw a flash of silver as i was bringing it in and thought ahhh another tarpon only to get it in and what....Thats not a tarpon....Thats a bloody good whiting,After the whiting the fish went quite so i decided to try another location but only ended up with a small flattie that i put back to grow bigger,Also at this location i jigged my squidgy along side a fallen tree and saw a red fish dart out at the plastic then dart back under the tree,I kept casting near the fallen tree but he wouldnt come back out,After that i called it a day and headed home as it was stinking hot.
heres a couple of shots of the whiting
cheers tim :D

my old man got some big whitting in the coomera about 3weeks ago, the bigest was 48cm, he gave me all the frams for crabbin'. One of the heads looked like a horse's head. He was using the worms ya dig in the mud.

Sounds like a fair group of you boys have been hitting the same spot but it still keeps producing. The benefit of C+R looks like it's paying off. Good work. Cheers. Keith......
