Not much doing at Mud

[One Day]

Hi guys. Ducked out to Mud Island this morning to flick some plastics about. Was greeted by a bit more wind and spray than I would have liked (yeah I am getting old eh!) Anyway got to Mud about 5am a bit on the wet side but looking forward to a good day.

Tried flicking around a much larger plastic than I normally do to see how it would go. Had a few takes but nothing big enough to swallow the large chunk of plastic on the end. Down sized the plastic but didn't get a sniff! Ended up with a couple of undersized grassy's on bait but nothing decent. Saw a couple of birds working and caught sight of a longtail however it wasn't interested in what I had to say.

A complete 180 compared with our last trip. A few other boats out soaking bait, they didn't seem to be fareing any better. Might have to duck down to Wello instead, looks like thats where its happening.

One day you may get some fish buddy. Not real funny am I. I guess fishing is like that, it gets you all pumped up from a great prevoius session and then lets you down. Thats fishing, and i guess it could be worse, you could be mowing lawns. Better luck next time!

we had a similar morning :( , but we were at Wello briefly, then Peel.
After losing my plastic cherry last week I was keen and ready with high expectations.... but the fish had other ideas. A now have a few more tail-less gulps, but thats about it. Has anyone caught a fish on a Sp with no tail? The only thing I 'caught' was a baby stingray in the net as we were walking the boat into the shallows of horseshoe bay. Saw plenty of dolphins right in near wello boat ramp, lots of porposes playing on the northern side of Peel and one massive shark(?) on the shouthern side! One of the pro crabbies was throwning something over the side, and the shark was into it.

Second what HAMISH said! It was dead at Wello and Peel but BEEFAMAN scored a couple of nice Snaps at Green while i only entertained myself with throwbacks!!
