Can anyone give me any info regarding Poverty Creek on Bribie Island. Have heard access due to shallow water is fairly difficult. Has anyone been there lately?

Thanks for that robersl. I was looking at Google Earth and there seemed to be a channel on the northern side of the mouth. I am not sure how recent the Google Earth photo was. Can anyone tell me how to get recent photos from Google. Do you have to pay or sign up.

as robers said very shallow at the mouth.
I had trouble in my 460 dory at mid tide. yes it does seem to be a little deeper on the northern side.

darryl,,,, have a look at the post i put up in 4x4 forum,, re the tracks are open,,, there may be something of help in there,,, but as the other gys have stated,, the area is shallow,, i've seen plenty of kayaks/canoes in that part of the creek,,,rarely any boats,,,
with my extremley unusual time off work at late,,, i've done a fair amount of exploring up there in the past few days,, nothing much to report on fish wise,,, other than heaps of juevenile fish,,, and a couple of crabs,,,

Went to Poverty Creek on Saturday night. Like to report that all replies to this thread were spot on. No water, No crabs, No fish. Pleased to report though that the local insect population have had enough of a feed to keep them going for another year. We probably donated about 3 litres of blood on the night. Beamboy, got your PM but for some reason this machine wouldn't let me reply.
Regards Darryl
