Winter whiting - are they around???

My kids are bugging me to take them fishing so I though a good choice for young kids would be winter whiting (not longtails :)). Does anyone know about what month do they start schooling up? (so we're not drifting around all day for a handful). Also be greatful for some advice on where to go when leaving from Cleveland (Amity Banks??) and what tide to look for.

Don't know if this place is accessible for you but was on the Northern End of Moreton last week jigging for bait and caught them 5 at a time, some good size others and a few smaller ones but there was heaps there, a tasty little feed,
As I said though, you might not have access to here
