Hi All!
Got home from work last night only to field a call from Phil-let asking what I was doing in the morning? Well given we're business partners, 'What the F%ck do you think i'm doing?!' 'Errrr, wanna go for a fish in the big boat? Skip wants to go out...' Ok, why not i thought! 15 mins later and a call comes back in 'Skips out!' Bloody skirt! Ok my boat then for a quick flick at Wello! Done and on the water at 4.00am.
Greeted by a good 15 knots from the SE, i was mildly excited that we would get some good drifts (as opposed to last Saturday). Well things were very very quiet! It was 6am before the 1st keeper was landed - a nice 40cm Snap to Phil-let. In that time, i got bricked twice. One by a very solid fish that just refused to budge once he inserted himself into the reef after providing some much needed zzzzzzzzzzz... Bugger! Anyway, we persisted before finally Phil-let is on again zzzzzzzzzzzz! Nice as he brought it around the boat while i gave him instructions to swing it from the back to the side for netting before what i class as the 'Brain Explosion' of the century! Now Phil-let is not a man who has 'brain explosions' (as TINN well knows) but it must have been the saltwater! He went the lift into the boat, managed to hover it over the boat (inside), hit the side rail and splash! Bye bye Mr 50cm Pagrus! :o 'You're F%cked!' I half laughed, half p%ssed off! Couldn't believe it while all the while i'm holding the net! Oh well, his fish I guess!
We continued till 7 before heading back in and at work by 8am. It was extremely quiet as we only boated 5 fish in total for the morning! A small Sweetie & flattie to Phil-let and Squire (record for the smallest fish ever seen) to me! So, only the one keeper and one dropped at/in the boat! I hope tommorrow is better BEEFAMAN!!
Take Care T
PS: Saw old mate 'Prawns & Five' at the ramp again this morning! 'How did you go last Saturday?' 'Yeah only the one big Snapper!' 'That's Ok, how big was it?' I enquired. '42cm!' he replied at which point I nearly fell over in stitches! Now I know his arm spans of 80+cm equate to fish of only 40+cm... :-/
