Took the family out to the islands report of weather wasn't any good but thought we punch it out for a day out, so 2 adults and 5 kids ranging from 2 years to 14 years head out at 6 am from the harbour, missus up me straight away too rough so she sat down the back on the 1/4 seats for the 14 km trip to north keppel island, we fished around a small island for a while then took kids for4 swim on considine beach , then out for a fish around corroberee island where we caught moke and small trout and couple of spotties, the kids then wanted to go for one last swim so back to the beach we go where the tide is now going out (unbeknowns to me at a great rate of knots) so anyways they all go for a walk up this small creek where they a gone for a while we decide to look for them and lo and behold comes back to boat to find her going aground had enuff time to turn it around and push it a little away from the surround dead coral to have it go well and truelly dry. That was at 1 pm so for the next 4 and a half hours we waited till the tide came back in while the wind got up to 25 knots so on the trip home my wife was well and truelly IMPRESSED . oh well have to get some brownie pionts before this weekend comes up. Little note i haven't been to Noerth Keppel since i was 18 i'm 36 now

i thought i was one of the only ones to forget about the tides when anchoring up on a island, but at least you are in a nice part of the world to do it..

At least you picked a nice spot to get beached. I love walking the beaches of North Kepple and conical Islands flicking a lure for a lizard or two. Shame about the weather though, its been ordinary all year so far.

We got 2 spotties but weather was ordinary for anchoring and missus doesn't like trolling but i had four hours to walk up beach to find where to achor properly next time, deeper water down in front of camping area, definately wont be letting that happen again,
