G'day and happy st patricks day to all ;D
Took the kids for a run down the logan river this morning , launched at carbrook ramp around 0500 was at our first stop at 0515. about 5 mins after the first bait hit the water zzzzz big run several minutes later a cattie around 60cms was beside the boat damn >:( over the course of the next hour or so we landed another 3 or 4 of these suckers >:( decision was made to move so we headed downstream to our next mark . baits in and straight away the kids started hauling up undersize bream and moses perch one after the other , had no action on my lines for quite a while ( not that i would have noticed , as i was constantly unhooking fish ;) ) till about 3/4 hour later i had another solid run that resulted in a 30cm bream , this guy fought like a fish 10cm bigger i was suprised he only went 30cm.
It was not long before the kids decided they were hungry so we dropped the pick and had breakfast while watching the dolphins play 8-)
Moved to a couple more spots and ended up with 4 keeper bream , about a dozen catties (all released unharmed) and a stack of undersize bream and moses perch. Was suprised at the size of a couple of the catties , biggest would have gone close to a metre.
All in all it was a great morning out on the water with the kids with the bonus of fresh fish for dinner tonite . ;D
couple of pics below
cheers
Jason.
