From all that I have heard they are doing a great job when you compare it to the service that Merv was providing.
They have obviously been left some legacy of Merv's $#@% ups, but will bend over backwards to make your stay a welcome one.

Hi there Hookmeup
Things appear to be running a bit smoother since Mary-Anne and Frank have taken over. They are very helpful when asked for a hand with something. Even lent us a jug the other week - so we could have a cuppa. It is just the two of them running the place at the moment, as the other lady that was in the office is no longer working with them, so when it is busy - they are run off their feet. But at least now, when you book a site - you actually get the one you book and no-one else is parked on it - or as in the case of one unlucky camper during Mervs reign, who went to put the boat in the water - with the Campervan they were travelling around Australia in. Came back after a lovely day of fishing only to find that Merv had decided that they had vacated - on the same day they booked in and put someone else on their site.
So much nicer now too now that the fish cleaning area has been moved away from the Bunkhouse - so the guys don't get the lovely aroma of fishguts while having a shower each night. lol
The ground is still very hard - we had to leave a peg in the ground back in December - but managed to get them all out the weekend of the no blokes barra bash.

Have been looking at all the Awoonga chat since I went up there recently. I was a bit worried after reading all the neg stuff, but since being there last month I can confirm also that the new managers, Frank and Maryanne are excellent. Totally focused on customer service and they love fishing which I think is important. Frank was proudly showing off his new Hornet Trophy he bought since taking the job. .. By the way, the fishing was excellent as well, good luck.

During my stay there few weeks ago i found that the park is no better now then when merv had it. The grass was long around the sites up the back and the bbq was disgusting, i would not eat of it. As for the new managers Knowing their fishing i was in the shop when she told someone she didnt no what lures to use didnt know anything about fishing at all and turned and went back on to her computer. I found them both rude and didnt have good people skills at all. I also heard while up there that they now have stopped all the fishing comps(Pro am,no blokes barra bash& brats in boats) now for people who are fishing inclined then why would they stop the best thing that attracts us fishermen up there. All sites have gone up when there has been no changes there at all since we were up there last. so take care in your trip hookemup i will be going to willowgrove next time up there or awoonga gateway cabins .
