Went to my spot X tonight chasing those red devils and as usual the red devils won out again. Arrived just before night fall to see plenty of mullet swimming about. Started flicking right through the school and bang second cast nice trev which went 43cm. Night fall fell and I moved to a different section and second cast on to a nice fish then snap got done on the rocks. Had to have been a Jack pulled like a train. Storm was coming so deceided to head home with one last cast pulled a nice flattie. He went 48cm. Both caught on a bomber and the Jack took a bomber. Where I am fishing for jacks I'm only in about 1/2 metre of water so the big ones a bricking me pretty fast If anyone has any suggestions on pulling these suckers out it would be much appreciated. Cheers!

Same old problem - you could get a heavier rod - its harder to cast and manipulate the lure but when you get a good fish on you can just tow it up the rocks. I prefer to stick with the lighter gear - you lose more fish but you get more fights!

Yeah I agree with MM. If your going after the reds try to use a much heavier leader. Thats all I can suggest, hope it helps. ;)

Cheers, Mick.
