Thought I'd toss a few lures on the run-in tide this morning hoping for a Trevally, Queenie but ended up hooking a beautiful 80cm Flathead. As I was fishing on my own, the old heart was thumping trying to net the big girl! After a couple of photos, she was released to fight another day. 4lb braid using a +6 Classic lure in Guns ' n Roses colour.
I went home empty handed as it was the only fish i got!

Beautiful big girl. Plenty of reports of a few bumper fish being taken. I reckon we'll be in for a top season this Winter.

Never mind going empty handed - there is a lot of joy in catching and photographing a beauty like that one.

Well done, mate!
