I fish Fraser/Hervey Bay a lot so fish species will be quite similar. Flathead, whiting, trevally, mangrove jack, possibly tuna and mackerel, depending on where you fish..... make sure you get a map of the zonings up that way because I'd hate to see you caught in a green zone or fishing with more than one rod in the yellow zones. Bring up some metal slugs, some soft plastics and some lures ideal for trolling offshore. you'll have fun. You should be able to buy live bait up there too. I'm sure someone who's been there just recently should be able to help out with more recent reports. Although fishntales is pretty much a hervey bay website, you should be able to draw on that information for ideas on what you're going to catch at bargara.

Mate check out the Burnett River, there is an old Sugar Mill up there with heaps of old Pillars in the water.
Saw 2 guys get over 10 cod and huge finger marks using hard bodies. Ask the fella at the tackle shop in burnett heads.
Thanks for all your help guys thats about all the info I will need. Look like you guys know your stuff thanks again

Mate when you get into Bundy go to a tackle shop called Salty's beside the river in town and get directions to a little reef known as "the two mile" which is very close in to Bargara( the boys should put you onto a few spots as well). A mate of mine used to hit this spot out of his little tinny and caught heaps of good fish most of the time including Mackeral, Tuna, Trevs and even a Marlin on a live herring. Bait hangs on the reef, just drop a bait jig down or throw lures. The rocks fish well from Bargara down to Innes park for Bream, Cod and occasional Jacks and Trevs !!!

The Kolan River should be fishing well then Tinn, and is a lovely spot, you can put your boat in at the Booyan Ramp, its about 20 mins from Bundy, it got a flush out from some rain recently and the prawns will be starting, hopefully,
Also you can catch spotty and spanish mackeral in the mouth of the Burnett river.
