g'day jamie
can you tell us a bit more like what rod , reel , braid or mono you are using and if you run a small sinker in front of any lure it is sure to impeed(sp) the action in some way.
cheers swano

Hey Jamie
Agree with Swano, we need a few more details to be able to help you out. But sounds like you may be fishing far too heavy line on a rod that may be too heavy for light bream fishing. Or perhaps you need to top up the spool so that the line sits just below the lip of the spool, that might help.
also the rod length makes a difference

Sounds like the line is to heavy try a 4 or 6 lb and i do agree top up the spool this will help If the runners are to small this will also restrict the line flow

Also try slowing down your retrieve.
Im sure if its spinning its too fast, and if its swimming to one side then the bib might not be lined up?
