Howdy guys , heres a couple of barra me and a mate have got in the last couple of days , The picture taken at night was 84cm and went 5.8kg cleaned Dave caught that throwing a Gold Bomber off the shore at spot X here in Cardwell it was taken on 3kg pretest so it was a bloody good effort and his best barra to date on 3kg . The next day we raced out for a few quite beers and a live bait for a big mumma but unfortunalty it was near impossible to find any live bait all we could manage were baby King salmon , we did get 1 mullet which was quickly hooked threw the nose and thrown out ,.
It took all of 20 seconds and the line started heading up current and when i came tight on the fish a barra jumped clean out of the water after a quick fight as i was using 30lb braid she was in the boat , it measured 83cm . A shame we couldn't get any more livies as we tossed lures for about an hour and then decided to call it quits as we had no more fish .

Isn't it always the case. When bait is so dam difficult to get you can bet your house that the fish are biting and when bait is easy to come by you end up catching nothing and throwing the livies back.

Nice Barra................
