There is no difference.

The only difference is the application, some use it as their mainline.

It should only be used as leader material, totally overkill and not necessary to be used as a mainline.

Nat ...... Leader material is much harder & stiffer than Fluoro line ...... just like mono leader material is when compared to mono line (imagine using Jinkai as your main line ::) ) NAGG

Big difference, "PRICE" some manufacturers (not all) are selling the same material as leader and line.

A smaller spool 20 to 30 meters long called leader will cost you more or the same as a spool of the same line 200 meters long marked line. more for less in the manufacturers favour. good marketing and we have too some extent been conditioned again to think we must have a specialised material leader.

True in some cases but not all. but why not capitalise on it. Its a bit like we used to be able to buy screws by the kilo, its convenient now to buy 6 in a blister pack for the same price. Same with hooks (now i'm showing my age)

I will keep using Berkley Vanish line as my leader for some applications and the spools last a long time. I do use Penn 10X leader for real abrasion resistance but thats not Fluro so does'nt fit the arguement, anyway thats my view and all may not agree, but take a hard look when two same brands are together under different titles next time you shop.

Yep I reckon price is the only difference as well! Mind you I am happy to use mono for leader as well, so obviously I am not fussy!

Flurocarbon is definetly stifffer and harder than your ordinary mono so its great for leader...Also supposed to be invisible in water.
Whether it increases your hits due to it being supposedly invisible is debatable but I keep using it as I like the abrasion resistance.
Nitlon leader is great stuff.

Flurocarbon sinks as mono floats.
