dadzy and i decided to take the tinny out on the tweed on saturday morn,

our rough plan was to find the trevally and have a go at them on bream gear. but after serching the main walls with the sounder we failed to locate them, so we decided to have a go at some spots we hadnt fished before for bream.

got a quite a few bream but struggled to get many over the 25cm mark best we managed we two 28cm models both falling to a towadi.

got plenty of by-catch including a little grass sweet lip, a nice flatty, a few little whiting and the ever present moses perch (which dad was happy with as he is just beginning with the softies and they gave him plenty of practice) we probably boated around 30 moses perch over the morning.

include a couple of pics of the sweetlip and flatty.

Nice fish Deethy. Certainly looks like a lovely spot on the coast down there.
I used to hit it every weekend surfing when I was younger, now I hardly ever get down.
Maybe when I get my rig things will change (or Barnsey takes me down). Dad's hooked now mate. ;)

That sweety is def something different.

Gee thats alot of moses perch. I saw hoards of them while snorkling the other day. Shame they don't grow very big in the estuaries...but then there prob would be none left.

Pete.

The sweetlips are showing up Nth GC as well. I caught 2 in the last week. They also showed up this time last year. Seem to be around for about 4 weeks, and then gone again.

They go hard once theyre hooked......

cheers
Andrew

barnsey,
not sure on the murbah stretch of river in theory it should be ok because of the lack of any consistent rain.

geoff,
was using 2" atomic grubs, towadi is a japanese HB surface lure good fun fish love them (they'd want to for their price)
