Advice on Welli Pt ramp

Would like a little advice on using Welli Pt ramp please. Planning a quick trip very early tomorrow morning. Focast is 10-15 SE, lighter early.
What I'd like to know is if the ramp ok at 1/2 tide in 15 knot SE winds?
If it's too choopy in those conditions what other ramps should I consider?
Coming from the Northside & planning to fish the Chain Banks. Boat is a 17ft cuddi and I will recheck the weather situation just before we leave.

Try and stay in middle of beacons as there are some bombies close to the edge,as we hit one on low tide :o

Welli point is very shallow at low tide and the bottom of the ramp is very slippery.

i'd use the cleveland ramp as the markers at wello dont have lights but that is if you are goin early as i did on sunday bein a first timer lucky it was busy and i could follow everyone else

and it is very shallow at low tide

Use the ramp at Manly boat Harbour.....deep water and well lit

My view is that you should use the Raby Bay Ramp if you are planning to go to the chain banks. The reasons? Chain banks from Raby Bay is straight out almost North/ NE, and not very far. In a S/E wind, either going out or the trip home from Chain banks will have the waves side on, not headlong into chop.

Wello point is more exposed in a S/E wind, and its a pain trying to get a boat your size lined up on the rollers coming on to the trailer. The other point about Wello is that the ramp is not very steep, which means your boat will have to come off the trailer easily, or you will have to put your back into getting the boat to roll off the trailer.

not sure about raby bay, never been there, but manly is the go in winds of any direction, especially good at 1/2 or lower times when by yourself as there is a sand beach right beside the ramp you can rest your boat on whilst getting/parking the car

I think Manly or Raby bay depends on personal preference. Raby Bay is an xtra 20-30 minutes on rd, but your not bashing into a headwind to get to chain banks

Thanks for the help guys but a little too windy at 3-30 this morning so we pulled the pin :(. Better safe than sorry.

Hey M62 it was a bit windy this morning blowing 20 knots. T1 and I were out at wello in 20 to 25 knot winds a few weeks back and had no trouble in my little 4.2 tinny but we are mad and very keen to fish. Wello is a good spot if it is windy as it is very close to the ramp doesn't take long to get back.

Just make sure to stay close to the jetty and in between the leads cause at low tide you can get stuck very easy. Good luck
