hit the bay on sunday finally with my little mate and first time bay/ sp fisher brodstar. had a little play around st haleena and my little offsider was of the mark with a little squire on his third cast but that was about all that happend there so off to mud to the scene of previous sucess. took a few drifts and the young fellas on again. i havent had a touchhttp://www.ausfish.com.au/vforum/images/icons/icon8.gif this time he scores a little sweetie. happy for the lad but getting a bit desperate for a fish my self. half an hour passes getting close to 11 tides on the change and the old saying runs thru my head no run no fun 2 more drifts was the call he'd caught fish on his maiden voyage and third ever fishing trip so i was happy not really thinking about much when i hear a little grunt then the drag on the little sol going of and the lads into a better fish. after a good fight he lands his pb sp bay squire of 43cm. FIRST TIME OUT. to say he was happy wouldnt be the word although i may have been a bit more excited for him. not sure he realises how hard it can be. so me still fishless and recharged with inthusiasim repositioned the for the same drift. saw fish on the sounder so was hopful and bang i was on. at 40cm not my best but after my drought from fishing it was a welcomed aboard like it was family. only other fish i caught on the day was a stone fish swimming along the surface in 30ft of water, it swam straight into the net. amazing camoflarge. great 5hrs spent and cant wait to do it again. i think the young blokes keen to.
iv got to stop being shown up by my guests, i tell them im just a good host but am stating to think about keeping my mouth shut and letting them work it out them selves;D
