Hi all,

After i've used a jig head I normally give them a wash when I get home and let them dry, some I keep rigged (good or bad?) to save wasting a placcie and put them in the tackle box and others I have put them back in the placcie bag. What seems to happen to some of the tackle box one's and nearly all of the ones that go back in the back is the lead seem's to start to disintergrate or something if I wipe my finger over it I get a big stinky(metal smell) metallic slick on my finger I assume this is bad because leads not that great for us.

Does this happen to everybody? or am i doing something wrong.

Thanks
Andrew

The plasticizer in soft plastics will melt lots of different types of paint on jig heads. Epoxy paints are resistant...as are vinyl paints....enamels are not. Better to remove the soft plastics....any nears in the plastic can be mended with a hot paper clip or needle, melting the plastic and squeezing it shut as it cools.

YES....I had the same thing happen to the squidgie heads..
Its like the plastic melts the lead and the lead turns to goo!....:-/
