Hi,

Went fishing with the boat for the first time this afternoon in Botany Bay with the kids. It was around 3.30pm. Water was fine.
Anchored near the runway. First throw immediately got a bite. 2nd throw landed a nice whiting (40cm)...you beauty.....
After that, barely got a nibble. After an hour and a half, moved to a different spot further out toward the end of the runway. As it was my first time, i didnt want to go out too far.
Very few nibbles again, except for a small snapper. Threw back in.
Headed back to the ramp around 7pm, with only one fish.
The main thing is the kids had a good time and we got back safely. We can live to fish another day.
I was using prawns, chicken fillets and i even used lures, but no good. Was it my bad fishing, or was it one of those days. Did anyone catch anything this afternoon in the bay?
Thanks.

Majed 1965 ..... You probably left the water too early (7pm) I reckon you need to fish the bay 5am-9am & then 5-9pm (Summer time) ..... Also your tides were not the best today (unless you really know the area) ..... Great to see the kids enjoyed it though! .... I took my 2 littlies out for the first time a couple of weeks ago (Pt Hacking) & my 7 YO got her first bream (1kg) ..... The excitement was worth bottling:) :) :) ....... NAGG
Ps Might see you out there some time ..... just look for the black Quintrex Hornet 480
