Ducked out to Mud Island on Saturday with the misses to test out my new plastic outfit. Haven't been able to get out lately so was keen to test it out. Left a little later than I would have liked arriving after a bit of a bumpy trip at about 5:30am. Sat in around 5-6 metres early before moving a bit deeper and picked up a little sweetlip at 30cm. I have just started tagging with suntag and this was my first tag. Hopefully one of the fellow Ausfishers will catch it again in a couple of years.

Anyway the wind dropped off to nothing and we started picking up quite a few squire. Not too sure why but they were hitting like freight trains. The first sign of a hit was always a solid run. Usually I feel them play with it for a bit before taking it. Ended up tagging another 6 squire from 29 - 36cm. Also kept a couple for a feed which went 47cm and a cod which went 43cm. Nothing huge but a great way to test the new outfit a 2500 diawa certate and t curve rod. The diawa was great, solid little reel with a very smooth drag. Very happy with it at this stage.

The misses caught a few little ones and dropped about 3 good hits. Thats fishing. Fun day on the water, can't wait until next time.:)

Got to be happy with that One Day, very interested in the Certate, have been thinking about getting one for a few months now, would like to hear a little more about them, if you have any more info on them.
Cheers,
Obi_Wan.

Sounds like a nice session you had there mate, I use a T-curve as well, pretty good off the rack rod for the price of them

One Day, Thats a great way to break in the new sp gear.
The certate 2500 custom is a top reel and worth every cent.
I know your going to be more than happy with that combo.
Wait till you get a 60cm + squire on.
The certate drag is smooth as silk !!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers Brent

Aquarius, It took a while researching and trying to decide which outfit to get. The reel so far is great but as I said to Obi Wan I was a little surprised that it didn't come with a spare spool. My other outfit is a shimano sustain 1000 on another smaller T curve rod. I've lost a few good fish with it but hopefully the certate will even up the score a little.
