Hey everyone,
I live on the gold coast and will be getting my first car very shortly (can't wait). My friend and i would like to drive up to hervey bay for a week of land based fishing during my school holidays. i was just wondering what i could catch. I have also heard Uranga peir is the best land based location is this true. i will be happy to catch basically anything that will hit a lure. Any help would be much appreciated Thanks Josh.

I was up at Hervey Bay at Christmass and i saw many big mackeral caught from the end of the Urganga peir! They were catching them on slugs. There is a long line of reef that runs parrell with the shore appx.700meters from the low water mark it runs from Torquay up to Vernon point, theres plenty of good fish to be caught on these reefs.

hey laney. your best of hiring a tinnie from torqauy beach hire and trolling lures along the reefs from torquay up to point vernon. ive caught plenty of cod and coral trout in the 11 to 13 ft of water. ive had best results on blue lures .have fun
