Corrosion on leg treatment?

I have just picked up a new boat and in the process of going right over it i have found a bit of corrosion on the leg thats in a pain in the butt spot to clean out totally(ex-owner obviously forgot to tell me bout this:-/ ). What i want to know is what will be the best way to treat this? Is there a spray(like using bi carb soda on battery terminals) to clean this white corrosion out totally and then what do i treat it with once cleaned(inox?)?
