Hi anglers spent Saturday night out on the bay and it was real good.
First of all we had spotted 2 marlin in the rainbow channel. Has anybody else seen this before or caught them in the rainbow channel?

I was in the rainbow in about 20m of water with a 5/0 hook with a big hunk of mullet on it sitting on the bottom. Next minute big pull and it was on it ran 50 metres to the left of the boat and then 50 to the right then 50 to the left and 50 to the right and then it decided to go some more to the right and it would not come up it would pull straight down and stay on the bottom but the reason i lost it is because i was nearly at the end of my spool so i locked the drag and it decided to go for another run then it snapped. ( I was fighting this fish for half hour if not more)

I was thinking it could be a huge sting ray but my poppy said it was unusual for them to be in water that deep, so he thought it was a big cod or even a big tuskfish. When the fish was fighting there wasnt any tail movement in the fight.

I was fishing on rocks. ANY IDEAS PLEASE?????????

Cheers Jpart10
