Howdy Folks, Today i had onboard fellow ausfishers Tim D and his partner Amanda.
We left Manly at 4-45am and headed over to the Huybers beacon to try and get the crew a first time keeper squire.
Drifting and more drifting not even a touch on the plastics.
Off to spot x at Green we go and start soaking the plastics.
Bang!!!! Amanda shows us blokes how to catch nice 35cm grassie sweetlip.
We moved around from here to there during the morning session but those squire eluded us this time.
We did manage to scrape together a small feed of flathead, sweetlip and a bream.
Sorry guys you will just have to try again on a new moon to get your first keeper squire.
I expected the bay to be a bit calmer today but we put up with a few rollers from time to time.
Tim has a couple of pics to add.
Cheers Brent

Those squire are very evasive this weekend. The result was a lot like yesterday when Scalem and I were out there. As far as I am aware Squire don't hibernate do they? lol Better luck next time. At least you caught a feed.

Was out at wello this morning too.
2 keeper squire about 38-40cm on SP's and a mixed bag of 5 or so grassies, moses and bream + the normal throw backs

Gotta agree about the sea. The wind speeds from the beacons didn;'t really correlate wth the sea conditions, especially as there was very little tidal run also.

Hey Brent!

Mate, we must have just missed you at Manly this morning! We did go to Green/Wello at about 10ish and ended up anchoring at Huybers where we got a few bream. Only the one Squire all morning (throwback on bait) however i'm pretty sure the one i lost at Mud was a decent Snap (brain lapse with drag settings...).

Take Care T

PS: Amanda, you can come and fish with us anyday!!

Hi Brent,

It's a little disappointing when you try and put guest deckies on to fish, then nothing really works the way you hoped. Did you notice a heap of weed floating around? Poodroo and I found it around Wello by the bucket, which is bound to affect the placcie. Well done Tim D and Amanda. I hear Brent has a supermarket approach to taking guests out. "Satisfaction Guaranteed or your money cheerfully refunded" At the very least I would bargain another trip out with him so you are there when they really fire up;) ::)

G,Day Brian, Mate the weed was no problem this morning just lack of tidal run and an outgoing tide.
My policy is ( ALL RETURNS WELCOME WITH A GUARANTEE ON THE RIGHT TIDE);D

Hey Brent

I'm the guy that lives up the road from you and drove past at 3:45 this morning with my kayak on the rooftop. Was going to stop and say hello but was meeting someone and had a bit of a drive down to Currumbin Ck.

Good to see you at least got a feed, even if the snapper were not playing the game.

You know if you are ever short a deckie you can always come and knock on my door, No. 5 Lawson Pl.;D

Gday Brent good to see that you got a feed :) The weather and tides did not play the Game. This weekend's tides should be good but we will have to wait to see what the TC is going to do.
