hey guys has anyone used platypus low stretch and how does it compare with other quality mono's like platnium and pretest. Will be looking for a quality line to bottom bounce with. Depths of water is usually less than 50m so therefore am ruling out braid. Simply because of the lack of knot strength and the problem of dropping fish. This brings me to my next question does lo-stretch still experience problems of dropping fish and poor knot strength??

Cheers

Hi,

I think this subject has come up before, so you could do a search for it. From memory, I think the responses were pretty mixed.

Have had a look at some of the older posts but still can't make my mind up. Is it true that pltypus lo-stretch is just platypus pink or have they stopped makin it completely.

Hey Rockfisho

yeah mate have checked out the website but am looking for views from people who have used it or know of people that use it so i can gauge whether it would be a better option over other lines like platnium

I have been using the new lo stretch in 80m of water and found it to be a good balance between braid and original mono. i started off using 50lb bionic braid and found i was pulling hooks on pearlys ect .Then i made a switch to 45lb shnieder line and stopped pulling hooks on pearlys , but could not get a good hook set on snapper and other hard mouthed fish. so i went to the new lo-strech and i havent dropped a fish yet

Hey Josh

Thanks for the comments mate. How does lo-stretch compare to braid in gettin to the bottom do you still find it hard to reach the bottom in 80m of water with the mono.

Have not had much trouble finding the bottom . We are using size 10 ball sinkers and generally float lining for snapper , while drifting under a sea anchor. One thing we have noticed is that you still have a good feel for small bites with 100m -140m of line out ,where with the snhieder mono it was some times hard to feel any thing.
