Itching for a fish this arvo so I decided to go along the main river front stretch for a change as it was sheltered from the constant southerley that we seem to have....::) As soon as I arrived I saw some trevs bust the surface and first cast with the ever faithfull prawn plastic I was on.Couple of nice little runs and the fish sulked deep...didnt feel like a trevally and I called it for a big flattie...Couple of more runs up the rock wall and up pops a nice little diamond trevally.
Only small but they are a super pretty fish....and only the second one I have caught in river so I was happy.:)
Kept casting and for about a fifteen minute period landed 3 more big eye trevs and a small cod....then all went quiet.
The funny thing is I was surrounded by bait fisho's using prawns etc and not one of them caught a thing. They even looked more horrified when I was putting all my fish back in.;D

nice session...as you found there is only one that amazes bait fishos more than a guy outfishing them on lures, and that is the same guy throwing back his catch :)
have had similar experiences and have often wondered if the other guys next purchase is an sp of some sort???
that looked like a nice way to wrap up the afternoon

i love nothingh more than releasing a good fish in front of a kill and grill fisherman,
we recently let a big fat yellowbelly go infront of a group at Cooby Dam,
you should have seen them it was priceless

Nice fish Pistol, sounds like a pretty good session. I love releasing them in front of the bait fishos, I've even had a couple of guys ask if they could keep my catch if i was only going to throw it back..... fat chance!!!

Pistol_P that was probably one of the only things that got a laugh out of me all day. After a hard day at work and then reading your report I can only imagine being in your shoes and having everyone looking on totally disgusted at the only fisho returning the only fish caught. Priceless. Well done. Glad you enjoyed your day.
