What is a Rock Spike?

I saw in a Post some time ago mention of a rock spike. It seemed to be a device for putting a rod in while rock fishing, thus avoiding the necessity of holding the bloody rod constantly.

I use rod holders regularly while surf fishing, but havent seen the spikes, and don't know where to buy them.

Any help greatly appreciated.

When I livebaited the rocks off the NSW coast we used pvc rod holders that we would cement to the rocks.......Some other guys had a piece of PVC tube with a pin attached that would slide into another piece cemented in the rocks.
