Afternoon Team - Late post I know, but better late than never.

Took a mate and missus fishing on Sunday, as my missus is getting too pregnant to be out in the Dory.

Only took 2 pots, scored a 19cm black buck. Weighed in at just under 1.4kg, one of the fullest crabs I've seen. Gottta love the Homebrand Catfood for crab bait!! ;D

On this fishing side of things I ended up with a couple of PB's amongst the little stuff. The first PB of the weekend was on Sunday with a 36cm Estuary Cod, then bettered this with a 38cm specimen the next day (gotta love Monday RDO's) ;D .

Also got a PB 36cm bream, good fun on a light spin setup.

I'm sure Mastro and Sheree will be back with their tinny. Might have to take more pots next time. Fingers crossed the wind doesn't get blowy too early on Sunday this weekend. Mind you, it might clear the cobwebs out from the night before;D

Cheers.

I notice this bream called pike and it's common in N.Q.

Rob - yes that is the one. The Croc Farm is on the bank of the southern arm of Cooroomin creek (I think). It is our usual fishing spot because the boat ramp is only 5 minutes from home. We live at Zilzie.

I haven't fished north of Stockyard Point, but have caught some good fish off 9 Mile Beach. It is good fun when the dart are on up there. My best was a 56cm snub nose dart.

One camping trip a mate caught a good 5ft shark off the beach. It was cut into big thick fillets and slow cooked, with a few of us consuming it over a few beers. We were cooking it, eating the cooked part and turning it to cook the other side. It took a while and a few beers to get through the big thick fillets!!

It was almost as good as the fresh salt & pepper squid caught in the estuary at 1770. From the ocean to the stomach in about 15 minutes, "That's Gold".

Love living in CQ!!!!!

Cheers.

Yes the big dart, I got 4 or 5 of them at the mouth of crio(?) bay and was gobsmacked by their size. will dig up those pics.
I try to go up every year as my dad lives up that way.
am at the moment fixing up the boat trailer to take up there this year... might give you guys a yell.
