About to take off up north in a couple of months and looking for water storage -
I have an 80 series on Gas so no room underneath - I do have 2 x 20l water containers that go on the roof but I'm interested in getting one of these universal water tanks that go behind the drivers seat on the floor (75 litre) - The brand I have been looking at is a flexi tank -Does anyone know if they're any good or not ? Or has someone else got a better idea?

Hi Virgin (seems strange to address someone this way as there are so few left except for all my daughters including the married one!)
I have a flex 50 lt ex Whitworths in the boat and its fine. No leaks and at the inlet I fitted a plastic gas cock tap leading out to a male 1/2 hose fitting that you can plug a hose onto to fill it. Outlet of the bottom 1/2 hose tap etc .
Can you locate the water away from the heat off the exhaust etc which will affect the floor location. I reckon you could get algae / smell / taste issues if the water gets hot and cold rather than being in a cooler location. Certainly better to be lower in the vehicle than on the roof which really won't help the centre of gravity .
Cheers

We've taken our opposite lock water bladder on 3 long 4WD trips and it's performed well; no leaks or abrasion marks. However there is a downside; unless you treat it before you use it for drinking water, it tastes like liquid plastic within days!. They're best used to store water for washing in my opinion, but I suppose other brands could be different. I dont think the roof would be an ideal place for a water bladder, the floor would probably be a better option.
