I wandered into the Tackle Warehouse late this afternoon, just passing a bit of time before heading home.

I walked in and was struck down by this tall, slender, shiny ray of beauty. I was speechless. Being a shy lad I retreated to the corner where I couldn't stop staring. I wanted to go over an introduce myself but could not pluck up the courage.

Eventually one of the sales guys came over and asked me if I wanted to be her. Like a little school boy I lowered my head and stared at the floor saying yes. He took me across and respectfully interrupted another customer and introduced me to the Norie. :) :) :) :) :) :) Even better, as I got closer into the inner sanctum the Norie was not one but many. The whole family had arrived....

Seriously, I have read about these rods over the last couple of years and was absolutly impressed when I actually got to hold one of them for the first time today. Melts into your hand. Being japanese - not cheap :'( :'( but have already committed myself to clocking up some overtime and making one mine by Easter.

Now how do I tell my missus.......

Do not have much info as far as the internet is concerned - Most of the information on the Nories rods come from American magazines. They have a huge cult following in Japan and America.

The designer is a guy called Nario Tanabe who is the equivalent to a Ian Miller but 10 times bigger in Japan. They compete against the Megabass but are more a boutique manufacturer. I expect to keep the price high. :'( :'( :'(

I actually ran into a couple of bass fishermen in Basspro last year in America who were using the rods. Absolutely raved about them. A walking advert. They actually offered to take me out the next day, however I was heading back home.
