Someone wanted to know how to do this connection.
I included this in the strongest leader knot thread but for those wanting to try this connection I thought I would put it up as a new Thread
This is how I make up my twisted leaders.
The pictures pretty much tell the story and I have successfully used this system to capture Awoonga Barra and other large fish.
Depending on the leader material you have to experiment a little with how long you spin the line with the drill. To long and some Mono's sort of melt, to little and the line do'es not twist up on its self.
I make up ten or so at a time, coiling up and placing in small plastic bags, if the leader gets frayed after landing a large fish you can somtimes cut the leader near the bimini loop and by pulling the loop open it flicks the end of the leader off and you can re-attach a new twisted leader without re-tying the Bimini loop.
Advantages of this system are :- Strong and very smooth connection to pass though the guides and good spring/shock absorbtion in the twisted mono section
Hope this helps (and hope the 2 attacements work)
