View Full Version : Macquarie River Fishing
Just after some information regarding the Macquaire river. I have recently moved to Dubbo and am keen to get amongst some fish. I am from the New England region and predominantly lure fished for cod. I am wondering if there is anyone who has fished in the Macquarie, I have lined a spot up with about 4km river on private property. I am hoping to be able throw some lures around. Does anyone have any tips regarding lure selection and time of day to go etc. Feed back would be very much appreciated.

brno. sorry it took me so long to see your post .. ;) i live in dubbo as well and there is some great fishing to be had right in town between the two weirs. as you would know its to muddy at the moment due to the rain, but get yourself a shrimp net and a shovel and try baiting until it clears up . carrington firearms have a good selection of stumpjumpers and oargee plows(my favourite) any thing with red , black , yellow seems to excite the green chappies. some good yellas around at the moment(trolled a 7lber up a while back, behind riverdale) so try the middle size stumpies. where abouts is the place you have lined up ??? sounds good 4 ks of river.
